Fibre-optic links across the Strait sparq and China Telecom sign strategic alliance today
First of the kind to provide the best quality information
service in both mainland and Taiwan
 The
new fixed-line operator sparq (New Century InfoComm Tech.
Co., Ltd., NCIC) announced today an agreement were signed
in Beijing between sparq and China Telecom, PRC's largest
telecom operator. Through this alliance, the users of both
sparq and China Telecom are the first on both sides of the
Taiwan Strait to enjoy the telecom service of the best quality.
This also signals a significant move by sparq expand its international
network.
The signing ceremony was held with the presence of both parties'
representatives, who are Mr. Yang VP of sparq carrier services
and Mr. Han Director of China Telecom's Taiwan and Macao office.
It starts being effective on June 6th. According to the agreement,
both parties are obliged to promote and cooperate on business.
Given that China Telecom has the most extensive and quality
network in mainland, this alliance will bring the benefit
to sparq's users in mainland of not only the transmission
quality but also customer service and technical support.

partnership between China Telecom and sparq will create
a win-win scenario for both parties," said Ji-ping Chang,
Vice President of China Telecom. "Through the agreement,
the users from both mainland and Taiwan will gain access
to high-quality telecom services, and China Telecom will
also spare no effort to assist sparq* to develop into the
largest telecom operator," he added.

direct dial service in China. To ensure quality and real-time
service, sparq chose to join forces with mainland's leading
telecom group. The most extensive network meets business
requirements. The most comprehensive facilities ensure quality

- and hence cost - of subscribers," said Seng Sum Ng, sparq's
chief operation officer.
